Job Description

Underwriting Technology communicates the needs of the Business and effectively translates what is needed to Information Technology by writing specifications, creating and executing test plans and test cases.  In this capacity, Underwriting Technology operates as a bridge between the Business and Information Technology.  Underwriting Technology guides the business by offering creative solutions to safeguard underwriting integrity while ensuring our process and workflows are positioned to accommodate growth, adapt to changes and anticipate future needs.  We will be mindful of the USLI experience and quality with a strong emphasis on communication.

Essential Functions:

  • Understands business needs by learning our products, workflows, processes and systems
  • Questions and constructively challenges conventional practices
  • Provides options and offers solutions to ensure the end product is delivered efficiently, accurately and within scope
  • Works collaboratively with team members and independently manages assigned tasks
  • Creates and executes test plans and test cases to validate the accuracy of projects
  • Provides clarification or guidance to IT Developers on specifications
  • Utilizes various utilities to update systems to support business/customer needs
  • Coordinates with team to ensure that all testing/development tasks are completed as scheduled
  • Develops and maintains collaborative business relationships
  • Troubleshoots issues reported by users and works with necessary parties to research, identify and implement a resolution


Desired Skills and Experience

College Degree required or equivalent insurance or testing experience.
