Job Description

The Quality Assurance Tester is essential in supporting the productivity of our teams, and ensuring all of USLI’s core business systems work efficiently. As well they are responsible for a wide range of quality tests and analytics to confirm the functionality, performance, and security of the company’s systems and the flow of data throughout the software.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand business needs, and provide system options/process recommendations to support the request
  • Enjoy problem solving and the challenge of finding system issues
  • Work with internal resources to develop Test Plans that accurately define the scope of the testing effort, and then create individual test cases that define each test scenario. Once the Test Plan is approved, execute tests, track and communicate the results
  • Troubleshoot issues reported by users and work with necessary parties to identify/implement a resolution
  • Communicate to users when system changes are implemented, and provide support and training
  • Independently manage assigned tasks to meet targeted implementation dates
  • Work in a team environment (experience working in an Agile Scrum Team environment preferred)

Desired Skills and Experience:

Strong insurance knowledge required in at least one of the product areas written by USLI, General Liability, Property, Liquor Liability, Personal Lines or Professional Lines, including familiarity with insurance terms, contracts, forms, underwriting rules, insurance regulations and rating. Proficient using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience preferred, but willing to consider less if you have a professional P&C insurance designation.

Positive attitude and strong team orientation; Communication proficiency (written and verbal); Ability to independently prioritize work and multi-task; Strong analytical skills, thoroughness and detail orientation; Strong negotiation skills; Intermediate level computer skills.
