Job Description
Responsible for ongoing monitoring of health of products including but not limited to conducting quarterly Loss Review meetings with senior leadership, reviewing and distributing monthly product loss development, conducting annual Loss Ratio committee meetings, as well as monitoring and identifying any potential issues.  Coordinate the placement of reinsurance for USLI and Devon Park Specialty as well as coordinate underwriting audit by these reinsurers bi-annually.   Act as a liaison for A.M. Best for USLI and Devon Park Specialty by developing an annual presentation for A.M. Best, maintaining a working relationship with our A.M. Best Analyst as well as reviewing and modifying A.M. Best public communications regarding USLI and Devon Park Specialty as needed.  Provide subject matter leadership for the community on actuarial and financial topics.  Lead cross-team efforts toward achieving combined ratio of 90% through the functions listed above.  Responsible for people leadership of the Actuarial and Underwriting Audit and Filings teams

Additional job assignments include adhoc analyses and proposal review for the CEO and all other business leaders. 

Strong critical thinking, oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.  Must have a strong understanding of all aspects of insurance company financials, coverages, markets, underwriting appetites and reinsurance.  Previous leadership and strong leadership qualities required.  Education: Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society. Experience: 20 years Actuarial experience in Property/Casualty Insurance.  Working conditions:  good, no travel required.
