Job Description
By joining our Technology team as a User Experience (UX) Designer/Developer, you will use the latest design and development technologies for both internal and customer facing web applications.  Because of the complex, custom developed insurance solutions that continue to evolve, we need your help!  This is an opportunity for a developer to collaboratively design, prototype and develop a new highly usable web-based user interface solution.  This role will also provide proactive guidance and support for front-end coding practices and standards.  You will have a mastery of design patterns and responsive web design using JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks, HTML5 and CSS.  You will be able to communicate how design choices impact application usability, performance, and maintainability.     

In this role, you will establish and promote front-end development guidelines, best practices, and standards across a large development effort.  You must be a proactive advocate of the user experience and best practices at a coding level.  You will have interaction with users to understand needs and tasks and be able to apply user-centered design (UCD) techniques to gain understanding of the user. You will collaboratively create user flows, design and build wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, mockups with our graphic design team to create final designs.  Together with our graphic design team, you will ensure the technical feasibility of all those UX/UI designs and develop valid, responsive design layouts needed to ensure that we deliver modern, interactive applications that integrate code into a beautiful web experience.  You will maintain expertise on current industry trends, techniques, and best practices in UX/UI design.  This is an opportunity to work within a high-performance team in designing and implementing solutions that are showcased internally and publicly.  You will be able to learn and maintain a general knowledge of all products in our company’s book of business and can enroll in courses and self-study to keep up with new technologies and new developments in visual design and human-computer interaction.

Please apply if you have a minimum of 2 – 4 years of enterprise application design and development experience with: JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, HTML5, CSS3, Agile/SCRUM, and the Human Centered design process.  Working Hours:  9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Some overtime work as needed.  Please be prepared to share your professional portfolio if applying.
