Job Description
USLI is seeking individuals who can support our underwriters by providing excellent service.  Successful applicants will be able to work with customers on a daily basis by binding new and renewal business, issuing policy endorsements and requesting/reviewing underwriting information.  This position requires a candidate who has strong organizational and communication skills and is detail-oriented as well as someone who is proactive in conducting application reviews and Web searches. Successful candidates will also be able to assist in training new employees when ready.

Essential Functions:

We are seeking growth-oriented individuals who can support our customers and underwriters by providing excellent service in an Underwriting Assistant position. Successful applicants will be able to work with customers on a daily basis by binding new and renewal business, issuing policy endorsements and requesting/reviewing underwriting information.  This position encourages and creates opportunities for growth so team members can develop their insurance acumen for long term company advancement. 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Review and professionally handle all customer inquiries within our service promise with a focus on quality and efficiency
Strengthen customer relationships by providing excellent service through frequent phone and email communication
Work collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure best possible outcome for all inquiries while minimizing touches and providing excellent customer service
Evaluate applications, web search results and business quoted via the web
Work within underwriting authority and obtain underwriter approval when necessary
Apply critical thinking and underwriting mindset to all accounts
Pursue opportunities for growth and development through USLI University, continuing education, workshops and classes
Communicate ideas for procedural or workflow improvement
Complete departmental specific reports or projects
Assist in training new team members when ready
Other duties as assigned

Ability to work independently in a fast paced team environment
Desire to learn and understand our insurance product offerings

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor degree preferred.  High School diploma with business experience considered
