Job Description

The Business Development Associate position is an entry level sales role, and will be based in Colorado. Main responsibilities will include generating new customer opportunities and driving new business activity from assigned customers in the region.

 In response to the COVID19 pandemic, USLI has chosen to work remotely (from home) until further notice. This includes training and onboarding for all new hires. All applicants must be able and willing to return to onsite employment once we decide to return to working from our physical offices.

 To successfully accomplish these goals, the selected candidate must have the following skills and attributes:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in the insurance industry is preferred
  • College Degree OR equivalent business/industry experience
  • Strong communication skills to establish relationships with customers, communicate company goals and objectives and meet with underwriting teams on strategy/tactics,
  • Initiative to execute on the best opportunities for growth within the territory
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Self-starter with strong dependability/initiative as this is a remote position
  • Organization skills to put together customer events as needed
  • Commitment to staying knowledgeable about the insurance climate being demonstrated by enrolling and passing insurance designations and coursework, including actively working toward the completion of CPCU and RPLU

Position responsibilities will include:

  • Calling and visiting prospective customers in assigned region
  • Building out distribution in assigned territory
  • Executing new customer appointment process
  • Establishing productive relationships with customers
