Job Description

We are seeking a Renewal Underwriter Trainee to work closely with our customers. Minimum of three years of insurance experience is a standard. Successful applicants will be strong technicians and effective at establishing and building customer relationships. Furthermore, qualified candidates must possess and utilize excellent marketing skills and be able to properly articulate the Devon Park company and team stories to our customers. Additional responsibilities include reviewing and approving audits, requests for binders, endorsements, non-renewals, cancellations/reinstatements and inspections. This position requires analysis, evaluation and pricing of renewal and new business in accordance with Devon Park objectives, underwriting guidelines and team commandments.

Training/coaching other underwriters is on an as-needed basis. Desired skills and experience: Education: college degree preferred or equivalent industry experience. CPCU, ASLI, RPLU, INS or other insurance-related coursework preferred; Experience: Previous three years of insurance experience; Specific Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills, positive/self-motivated, strong written communication skills, good interpersonal skills/team player, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, willingness to help where needed, knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
