Job Description

We are seeking experienced Commercial Lines underwriters to work closely with our wholesale and retail customers.  Minimum of FIVE years underwriting experience is a standard.  Successful applicants will be strong technicians and effective at establishing and building customer relationships.  Furthermore, qualified candidates must possess and utilize excellent marketing skills and be able to properly articulate the USLI company and team stories to our customers.  Additional responsibilities include reviewing and approving audits, requests for endorsements, non-renewals, cancellations/reinstatements and inspections.  This position requires analysis, evaluation and pricing of renewal business in accordance with USLI service promises, objectives, underwriting guidelines and team commandments.

 

Training/coaching other underwriters is on an as-needed basis.  Desired skills and experience: Education: College degree or equivalent business/industry experience. CPCU, ASLI, RPLU, INS or other insurance-related coursework preferred; Experience: Previous underwriting experience (at least FIVE years); Specific Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills, positive/self-motivated, strong written communication skills, good interpersonal skills/team player, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
