Fitness and Wellness Specialist

Job Description

Essential Functions:
Assist Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader in maintaining on-site fitness center for employees, and develop overall fitness and wellness programming for employees, family members and customers. Provide personal training and behavior change coaching, lead group fitness classes and create and implement individualized exercise programs. Create and facilitate on-site and streaming wellness classes for employees, family members and customers. Assist with and lead wellness challenges, initiatives and programs to promote overall health and wellness. Create promotional documents, wellness educational documents, educational articles, challenges, email blasts, social media posts, flyers and bulletin boards to promote services or events. Assist with maintaining fitness center memberships and membership system, and facilitate new hire orientations as needed. Record exercise videos for online library and programs. Maintain CPR certification and assist with certifying employees in CPR. Assist with daily cleaning needs and serve as liaison for vendors used by fitness center. Ensure equipment and facility are in immaculate condition. Provide excellent service, build relationships with members and assist members with daily needs. Hours are subject to change depending on the time of the year; availability for various shifts is important. Hours will fall between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities within Personal Development include: Benefits — assist with educating employees on benefits and health and wellness, and assist with the annual health fair. Community Spirit — support fundraising goals and company events (Community Picnic and Bring Your Child to Work Day).

Specific Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills, coachable, good time management, service mindset, friendly, outgoing and approachable, motivating, thorough, detail-oriented, do-what-it-takes attitude, creative ability, takes initiative when given an opportunity, desire to help people.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: College degree required. Experience: 4-6 years plus a national accredited certification.
