As the Benefits Manager at USLI, you will work side-by-side with a team of experienced Benefits and Operations professionals, as well as our Health and Wellness team. You will be a part of a larger Operations/ Personal Development Team, where our goal is to provide the best experience possible to our people and make them feel like our number one asset. The Operations/ Personal Development Team includes Design, Facilities, Community Spirit, Corporate Events, Corporate Communications, Video Production, Recruiting, Reception, Fitness, Health and Wellness, and our USLI University. You will be on a team that owns many of the cultural and people initiatives, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with us!
Your Specific Role:
You will own and set the stage for the new hire onboarding experience, as well design, deliver, and educate the entire community on our robust benefits packages. We have offices located across the United States, as well as in Canada. For all of these offices, you’ll provide people services, such as in-person, private, one-on-one sessions for individual needs, and ensure proper application of policies, procedures and requirements for all benefits programs, as well as negotiate all benefit contracts and make recommendations for best possible plans and pricing. You will need to administer and understand all state and federal laws governing Family Medical Leave Act, (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act, (ADA), and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, (AODA), COBRA Administration, Worker’s Compensation, (WC), Unemployment, (UE) and disability claims including California and Canadian laws.
You must have experience with ADP (HR Profile, Workforce Now, and Time and Attendance preferred) or have a strong ability to learn new systems quickly and independently. Data management and analysis skills are required, as the Benefits Team owns demographic, retention, and other reports. These reports are robust and require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities also include managing the HRIS system by processing/approving employee data transactions such as additions, changes and terminations, employee data reporting with annual ACA 1094C/1095C reporting. You will also work closely with Accounting/Payroll for system maintenance and updates as well.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of carrier connections between ADP and all benefit vendors for accuracy. Evaluate regularly to use all facets of ADP HRIS to automate processes and work more efficiently with vendors and employees. Maintain all benefit plan payroll deductions and premiums in the ADP benefits system. Utilize ADP reporting system to process state and federal legal notice requirements on an annual basis. In this role, you will be an advocate for our people, helping them to get the most out of our benefits packages. Additionally, you will teach classes on various subjects, such as retirement plans, mental health and wellness, FMLA, disability and more.
