Job Description

USLI is seeking a Communications and Writing Specialist (five years of experience or less) who will help ensure our internal and external communications are clear, compelling, consistent, grammatically correct and representative of the USLI brand. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within an A++ rated Berkshire Hathaway insurance company.

A successful candidate will have a high level of thoroughness, is someone who understands grammar rules, can write well and with simplicity, and has an interest/experience in the marketing aspect of communications. This person will need to understand how to write for different audiences and be open to learning the insurance industry to effectively communicate about our products and services. Having the ability to understand message engagement and analytics, identify areas of improvement and implement creative solutions is a plus. This individual will assist with editing, writing and marketing USLI’s messaging externally to customers (wholesale and retail insurance companies) and policyholders (small business owners), as well as internally to the USLI community.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Developing, copyediting and maintaining content for USLI’s email blasts, social media pages, websites, intranet, newsletters, presentations, coursework, marketing materials and more
  • Working closely with Marketing team members and many other teams throughout the company to execute projects on schedule
  • Tracking, understanding and reporting out on trends in customer engagement data
  • Daily auditing of our communications to maintain accuracy and keep content fresh
  • Using software like Mailchimp, WordPress and Adobe to implement content changes as needed on the intranet/internet and in email blasts
  • Assisting with administrative social media tasks, such as scheduling posts and tracking analytics
  • Communicating with senior level employees on a variety of assignments
  • Serving as a resource to our growing community as writing and marketing assistance are needed and as we may need to adapt our strategy due to international growth
