Accounts Payable Analyst

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for processing invoices submitted for payment. Issue checks for payment of approved invoices. Interact with insurance carriers, customers, vendors, employees, and taxing entities to resolve disputes and discrepancies. Maintain files and records of invoices and payments. Ensure timely payments and assist in reconciling both Payable and Receivable accounts.

 

Essential Functions:

1. Receive and verify all incoming payments are approved and reconcile for accuracy.

2. Reconcile discrepancies and follow up with customers for past due payments.

3. Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.

4. Process checks in a timely and efficient manner.

5. Organize and maintain a filing system for record keeping of all invoices and payments.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Month and year-end closing assistance maybe required. May entail working at night / on weekends.

2.     Participatein personal continuing education as defined by leadership (IndividualDevelopment Plan).

3.     Work well in team environment bymaintaining a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.


Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: 4 year college degree and/or equivalent job experience

Experience: Previous accounting experience preferred

Specific Skills: Basic computer knowledge in Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook, math skills, oral and written communication skills, and organization; ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Working Conditions: Speed, accuracy, detail-oriented
