Job Description

Essential Functions:

This position works closely with Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants in the binding of insurance, servicing of policies, and review/follow-up of underwriting information. The position encourages and creates opportunities for growth so team members can develop their insurance acumen for long term company advancement.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:           

  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure best possible outcome for all inquiries while minimizing touches and providing excellent customer service
  • Evaluate applications, web search results and business quoted via the web with guidance from Coaches and Leader
  • Gather information and approval where necessary to prepare binder for delivery to Customer
  • Apply critical thinking and underwriting mindset to all accounts
  • Pursue opportunities for growth and development through USLI University, continuing education, workshops and classes
  • Communicate ideas for procedural or workflow improvement
  • Complete departmental specific reports or projects including daily follow ups and research Bound Not Issued items
  • Develop in depth knowledge for all products handled within specific Underwriting Assistant Team
  • Understand inter-departmental relationships and the duties of each, including Policy Issuance, Underwriting Services, Billing and Underwriting
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent business experience

This position is a developmental role requiring in-person job shadowing, team building and foundational insurance education. On-site presence 75% of the time is necessary to meet the requirements of this role. Additional details may be discussed with the hiring leader.
