Job Description

Interested in exploring a new industry? Join us in the exciting world of insurance!

As a member of a small but highly effective team, perform essential state surplus lines filing functions listed below and other duties as required.  Collaborate with our wholesale brokers and accounting team to ensure surplus lines filings are completed timely and accurately.  Interact regularly with state surplus lines stamping offices and departments of insurance as necessary to ensure timely compliance with state statutes and regulations.  Perform all functions with a focus on outstanding service, exacting attention to detail and a strong sense of teamwork. 

Timely and accurately submit state surplus lines filings along with any necessary reports or affidavits required by the state (daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually & annually) as applicable;

Create and maintain accurate all state filing records on the team shared drive and in the Agency Information Management System (AIM );

Perform tax and fee calculations/premium allocation per various state requirements;

Work closely and collaboratively with our wholesale brokers and accounting to reconcile tax payments;

Analyze policies and required affidavits and forms from agents and brokers;

Assist in the development and maintenance of surplus lines processes and procedures;

Assist with surplus lines related questions;

Stay current with surplus lines filing guidelines and state rules/regulations;

Develop relationships with State Insurance Departments and State Surplus Lines Associations to ensure compliance with surplus lines laws and regulations.
