Job Title: Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Your Role: You will serve as a senior business intelligence developer on the Information Technology team, reporting directly to team leadership while collaborating closely with senior executives, end users and developers across the organization. This position requires an energetic and highly organized individual who can manage multiple projects, work independently and uphold data integrity and confidentiality. You will be responsible for supporting the company's evolving business intelligence strategy and reporting needs, with a strong focus on architectural and design excellence as well as delivering operational confidence in the company’s analytic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect solutions: Work closely with the BI architect to ensure data solutions align with architectural standards and best practices
Design and support: Lead the design, implementation and operational support of business-oriented data and reporting solutions using information from web, mobile and in-house systems
Collaborate across teams: Work with senior leaders, team leaders, end users and other developers to understand and address data/reporting needs
Maintain data integrity: Create solutions that follow best practices in data quality and integration across multiple source systems
Ensure consistency: Utilize common components and follow architectural and team standards across all data initiatives
Manage timelines: Work with team leaders to establish goals, provide status updates and meet project deadlines
Understand the business: Gain and maintain general knowledge of all products within the company’s portfolio to ensure effective solutions
Commitment to learning: Enroll in continuing education and self-study to stay current with new technologies and BI practices
Mentor and support: Foster team success by mentoring peers and supporting team-based software development, providing leadership and guidance to ensure teammates have the resources and support needed to succeed
What You’ll Bring:
Holistic thinking and innovative problem solving: Integrate diverse perspectives in data and business processes to break down complex issues, identify patterns and transform the big picture into small details
Collaboration skills: Strong ability to work professionally with peers, business stakeholders and executive teams
Technical proficiency: Deep experience with Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS); familiarity with Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks and PowerBI
Architectural expertise: Proven experience in data architecture, star schema and data warehouse design, building scalable data solutions and data visualizations
Agility: Able to thrive in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments, managing shifting priorities and deliverables
Initiative: Demonstrates ownership of projects and sees them through to timely completion
Problem-solving ability: Handles complex data challenges with thoughtful and efficient solutions
Qualifications:
Education: College degree, technical certifications or equivalent industry/technical experience
Experience: Minimum of seven years in business intelligence roles with a strong background in SQL Server, Azure data tools and data warehousing practices
Technical skills: Proficient in business intelligence technologies including SQL Server, SSIS, Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks and PowerBI
Soft skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, professionalism and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
